CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • Handle components indoors as much as possible to prevent foreign matter from entering and adhering to headlight assembly components.

  • Do not reuse parts which have reduced fastening ability due to thread damage.

  • Do not touch the inner surface of the lens and metallic surfaces as much as possible, or they may become dirty.

  • Do not allow metallic surfaces to become dirty, as such surfaces become damaged even if they are only lightly wiped with a soft cloth.

  • Do not use solvent to clean components. Only clean them with a dry cloth.

  • When installing components, make sure that the wire harness is not pinched or pulled.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FOG LIGHT CORD


    1. B0018ML

      Pass the fog light cord through the hole of the fog light housing and connect the grommet.

    2. Connect the bracket with the screw.

  2. INSTALL LIGHT CONTROL LED ECU


    1. Install the light control LED ECU with the 2 screws.

    2. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL FOG LIGHT UNIT LH

    Note


    • Perform work using clean rubber gloves.

    • Do not touch the cornering light unit LH with bare hands.

    • Do not touch the metallic surfaces as much as possible, or they may become dirty.

    • Do not allow metallic surfaces to become dirty, as such surfaces become damaged even if they are only lightly wiped with a soft cloth.

    • Do not use solvent to clean components. Only clean them with a dry cloth.

    • When installing components, make sure that the wire harness is not pinched or pulled.

      Set the fog light unit LH to the aiming screw.

      While holding the fog light unit LH with one hand so that it does not fall over, tighten the aiming screw 10 rotations.

      Lightly push the fog light assembly to connect the 2 pivot collars.

      Tighten the aiming screw until the protrusion amount is the same as that recorded.

    5. Connect the connector.

  4. INSTALL CORNERING LIGHT UNIT LH (w/ Cornering Light)

    • Do not touch the cornering light unit LH with bare hands.

    • Do not touch the metallic surfaces as much as possible, or they may become dirty.

    • Do not allow metallic surfaces to become dirty, as such surfaces become damaged even if they are only lightly wiped with a soft cloth.

    • Do not use solvent to clean components. Only clean them with a dry cloth.

    • When installing components, make sure that the wire harness is not pinched or pulled.


    1. Install the circuit sub-assembly with the screw.

    2. Connect the connector.

    3. Install the cornering light unit LH with the 3 screws.

    4. Connect the connector.

  5. INSTALL FOG LIGHT SEAL

    Note


    • Perform work using clean rubber gloves.

    • Do not touch the inner surface of the lens and metallic surfaces as much as possible, or they may become dirty.

    • Do not allow metallic surfaces to become dirty, as such surfaces become damaged even if they are only lightly wiped with a soft cloth.

    • Do not use solvent to clean components. Only clean them with a dry cloth.

      Clean the fog light seal installation groove.

    2. Prepare 2 screwdrivers, fold a piece of peeling paper over the tip of each screwdriver and fix the pieces of peeling paper in place with tape.

      Tech Tips

      Use the peeling paper that is supplied with the fog light seal.

      Using scissors, cut the headlight lens gasket at a 90°.

      Starting from the position shown in the illustration, set the fog light seal into the straight groove clockwise until it meets the corner groove.

      Note

      Lightly set the seal in place without pulling.

    5. B0018XJ

      Set the fog light seal into the corner groove and using 2 screwdrivers with their tips wrapped with peeling paper, push the seal into the bottom of the groove.

      Note


      • Lightly set the seal in place without pulling.

      • If the fog light seal is set while pulled, the seal will be pushed up at the corner groove.

    6. Repeat the following order while working in a circle back to the starting point.


      1. Set fog light seal into straight groove.

      2. Push into bottom of groove.

      3. Set into corner groove.

      Using scissors, cut the fog light seal at a 45°angle at the starting point so that the seal overlaps itself 20 mm (0.7874 in.) and set the seal in place.

    8. Check the installation condition of the fog light seal.

      OK
      Seal not pushed up or protruding.
      No gap where seal overlaps.

      Note

      Check the corners carefully since the seal can easily become pushed up in those areas.

  6. INSTALL FOG LIGHT LENS LH

    Note


    • Perform work using clean rubber gloves.

    • Do not touch the inner surface of the lens and metallic surfaces as much as possible, or they may become dirty.

    • Do not allow metallic surfaces to become dirty, as such surfaces become damaged even if they are only lightly wiped with a soft cloth.

    • Do not use solvent to clean components. Only clean them with a dry cloth.


    1. Clean the fog light seal contact surface.

      Set the fog light seal in place.

      Note

      Set the fog light lens LH in the middle of the fog light seal as shown in the illustration.

    3. Check that the entire circumference of the fog light lens LH is positioned above the middle of the fog light seal.

      Attach the 6 claws to install the fog light lens.

      Using a T20H "TORX" Driver, install the "TORX" screw.

    6. Install the 6 screws.

    7. Check the condition of the fog light seal.

      OK
      Seal contacts fog light lens LH and does not protrude out.

  7. INSTALL FOG LIGHT BRACKET LH


    1. Attach the claw to install the fog light bracket LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.
