ADAPTIVE HIGH BEAM SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

    1. Headlight ECU sub-assembly

      1. The headlight ECU sub-assembly stops light operation if any of the following malfunctions are detected.

Malfunction Multi-information Display Warning DTC Output
Lighting on/off LED light source malfunction Low beam Displayed Output
        High beam Not displayed Output
        Fan malfunction Displayed Output
Other than above (communication with main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)) Not displayed Output
Automatic headlight beam level control system Displayed Output
Adaptive high beam system Displayed Output
Power supply IG voltage line malfunction Displayed Output
Other than an IG voltage line malfunction Not displayed Not output
    2. Headlight light control ECU sub-assembly

      1. If the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly and LED array malfunction as follows, the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly stops operating and the LED array turns off.

        • Power source voltage malfunction (below 6 V, or 17 V or more)

        • Open or short malfunction in LED array

        • Open, short circuit or short to ground in wire harness between headlight light control ECU sub-assembly and LED array

        • LIN communication lost between headlight light control ECU sub-assembly and headlight ECU sub-assembly

        • High temperature malfunction

      2. If the LED array fan malfunctions as follows, the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly reduces voltage output to the LED array and dims the LED array.

        • LED array fan malfunction

        • LED array fan drive line malfunction

        • LED array fan speed detection line malfunction
