PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK STOP LIGHT OPERATION


    1. Check that the stop lights illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed.

      OK

    OK

    CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUT)


    1. Disconnect the A24 hydraulic brake booster (skid control ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A58 stop light control relay assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the S4 center stop light assembly connector.

    4. Disconnect the S32 rear light assembly LH connector.

    5. Disconnect the S33 rear light assembly RH connector.

    6. Disconnect the L3 rear combination light assembly RH connector.

    7. Disconnect the K4 rear combination light assembly LH connector.

    8. Disconnect the K50 radio setting condenser connector.

    9. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-7 (STP) - A58-1 (OUT) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-7 (STP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY ASSEMBLY (OUT)


    1. Disconnect the S4 center stop light assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L3 rear combination light assembly RH connector.

    3. Disconnect the K4 rear combination light assembly LH connector.

    4. Disconnect the K50 radio setting condenser connector.

    5. Disconnect the S32 rear light assembly LH connector.

    6. Disconnect the S33 rear light assembly RH connector.

    7. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A58-1 (OUT) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
