LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives headlight dimmer switch information signals and illuminates the rear fog lights.

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • Recognition code registration is necessary when replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to the Service Bulletin.

  • w/ Door Control Battery:

    As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-Vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure Click here

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK TAIL LIGHT OPERATION


    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK
      Taillights operate normally.

    NG
    OK
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test Click here.

      Rear Fog Light Relay Rear fog light relay ON/OFF The headlight dimmer switch is in the tail position.

      Rear fog light relay operates (rear fog lights come on).

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)


    1. Disconnect the O6 rear fog light assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the O5 rear fog light assembly LH connector.

    3. Disconnect the 2K the cowl side junction block LH connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O6-2 or O5-2 - 2K-25 Always Below 1 Ω
      O6-2, O5-2 or 2K-25 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O6-1 or O5-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH

    1. for LHD


      1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH Click here.

      2. Remove the main body ECU from the cowl side junction block LH Click here.

    2. for RHD


      1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH Click here.

      2. Remove the main body ECU from the cowl side junction block LH Click here.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2G-1 - 2K-25 Battery voltage applied to terminals 2G-1 and A-14 (TRLY), and 2G-1 and A-27 (RFGO) 11 to 14 V
      2G-1 - 2K-25 Battery voltage not applied to terminals 2G-1 and A-14 (TRLY), and 2G-1 and A-27 (RFGO) Below 1 V
