DESCRIPTION

A DTC is stored when a malfunction of the headlight fan occurs and the low beam headlight is dim. The headlight ECU sub-assembly LH stores DTC B243D and B243E.

PROCEDURE


  1. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.


    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Operate the light control switch to turn on the low beam headlights and wait 2 minutes.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B243D and B243E are not output.

  3. INSPECT HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the headlight assembly LH Click here.

    2. Remove the headlight fan from the headlight assembly LH Click here.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-6 - F-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-15 - F-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-14 - F-2 Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH Click here

  4. REPLACE HEADLIGHT FAN LH


    1. Replace the headlight fan LH with a new or known good one Click here.

      Remove the headlight assembly RH Click here.

    2. Remove the headlight fun from the headlight assembly RH Click here.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-6 - F-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-15 - F-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-14 - F-2 Always Below 1 Ω

  8. REPLACE HEADLIGHT FAN RH


    1. Replace the headlight fan RH with a new or known good one Click here.
