PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:U0235

DTC Code DTC Name
U0235 Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor

DESCRIPTION

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
U0235 When the power switch is on (IG), a communication error between the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly and the driving support ECU assembly is detected for approximately 1 second.
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly CAN main wire or connector

  • Power source or inside of millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly ground circuit

  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

  • Before measuring the resistance of the CAN bus, turn the power switch off and leave the vehicle for 1 minute or more without operating the key, switches or opening or closing the doors. After that, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and leave the vehicle for 1 minute or more before measuring the resistance.

  • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  • When replacing the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a millimeter wave radar sensor assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

Tech Tips

  • Operating the power switch, any switches or any doors triggers related ECU and sensor communication with the CAN, which causes resistance variation.

  • Even after DTCs are cleared, if a DTC is stored again after driving the vehicle for a while, the malfunction may be occurring due to vibration of the vehicle. In such a case, wiggling the ECUs or wire harness while performing the inspection below may help determine the cause of the malfunction.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM)

    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Perform the following procedure.

      Tech Tips

If the following procedure is not performed, the previously output DTC cannot be detected.

      1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait 1 second or more.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.
