INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/o Pre-crash Safety System)


    1. Check operation of the electrochromic inner mirror.

      1. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (E).

      2. Press the AUTO switch.

      3. Attach black colored tape to the forward sensor to prevent it from sensing light.

      4. Shine an electric light on the mirror. Check that the mirror surface changes from bright to dark.

        Tech Tips

        When the environment is very bright, the antiglare operation may occur immediately after the tape is applied.

      5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        4 (EC+) - 5 (EC-)

        Inner rear view mirror surface

        Bright → Dark

        		 Below 1 V → 1.25 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the inner rear view mirror assembly.

  2. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ Pre-crash Safety System)


    1. Check operation of the electrochromic inner mirror.

      1. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (E).

      3. Attach black colored tape to the forward sensor to prevent it from sensing light.

      4. Shine an electric light on the mirror. Check that the mirror surface changes from bright to dark.

        Tech Tips

        When the environment is very bright, the antiglare operation may occur immediately after the tape is applied.

      5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        4 (EC+) - 5 (EC-)

        Inner rear view mirror surface

        Bright → Dark

        		 Below 1 V → 1.25 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the inner rear view mirror assembly.

  3. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (SHIFT LIGHT)


    1. Inspect the operation of the shift light.

      1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2.

      2. In a bright environment, with black colored tape attached to the sensor portion of the inner rear view mirror assembly, check that the shift light illuminates.

        Standard
        Shift light illuminates.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the inner rear view mirror assembly.
