DESCRIPTION

The motor rotation angle sensor detects the motor rotation angle and sends this information to the power steering ECU assembly.

Note


  • If the power steering ECU assembly is replaced with a new one, perform assist map writing, clear the motor rotation angle sensor calibration value, initialize the motor rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Click here.

  • If the power steering link assembly is replaced, clear the motor rotation angle sensor calibration value, initialize the motor rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CONNECTORS


    1. Check the connection of the power steering ECU assembly and power steering link assembly connectors.

    2. Visually inspect the terminals of the power steering ECU assembly and power steering link assembly connectors.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY - MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the C2 motor rotation angle sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the C7 power steering ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C2-2 (RZG) - C7-1 (RZG) Always Below 1 Ω
      C2-4 (RZCS) - C7-8 (RZCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      C2-1 (RZSN) - C7-7 (RZSN) Always Below 1 Ω
      C2-3 (RZV) - C7-3 (RZV) Always Below 1 Ω
      C2-2 (RZG) or C7-1 (RZG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C2-4 (RZCS) or C7-8 (RZCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C2-1 (RZSN) or C7-7 (RZSN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C2-3 (RZV) or C7-3 (RZV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the C2 motor rotation angle sensor connector.
