FRONT BRAKE(for 17 inch Front Disc Brake) REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    Wash off the brake fluid immediately if it comes into contact with a painted surface.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD KIT

      Remove the pin hold clip.

    2. Remove the hole pin while pushing on the front disc brake anti-rattle spring.

    3. Remove the front disc brake anti-rattle spring.

      Note

      The front disc brake anti-rattle spring can be used again if it has sufficient rebound, no deformation, cracks or wear, and has had all rust, dirt and foreign matter cleaned off.

    4. A000PAC

      Remove the 2 front disc brake pads from the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      *1 Front disc Brake Pad
      *2 No. 1 Anti-squeal Shim
      *3 No. 2 Anti-squeal Shim

      Remove the No. 1 anti-squeal shim and No. 2 anti-squeal shim from each front disc brake pad.

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. A000RG1

      Remove the union bolt and gasket.

    2. Disconnect the front brake flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder assembly.

  5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000RJ3

      Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder assembly from the knuckle.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC

      Place matchmarks on the front disc and axle hub if planning to reuse the front disc.

    2. Remove the front disc.
