REAR STABILIZER BAR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY


    1. A000PJ9

      Inspect the turning torque of the ball joint.


      1. Secure the rear stabilizer link in a vise using aluminum plates.

      2. Temporarily install the nut, and use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.

        Standard turning torque
        2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf) or less
      3. Turn the stud.

        OK
        There is no abnormal sticking or rattling while turning the stud.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear stabilizer link assembly with a new one.

    2. Inspect the dust cover.


      1. Check that the dust cover is not cracked and that there is no grease on it.
