MOTOR WATER JACKET COVER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL MOTOR WATER JACKET COVER ASSEMBLY


    1. A000QNG

      Remove any remaining seal packing from the motor water jacket cover installation surface and bolt holes.

      Note


      • Clean and degrease the installation surface and bolt holes.

      • Do not allow any remaining seal packing to enter the coolant path when cleaning.

      Apply seal packing in a continuous line as shown in the illustration.

      Standard seal diameter
      2.0 to 3.0 mm (0.079 to 0.118 in.)
      Seal packing
      Toyota Genuine Seal Packing Black, Three Bond 1207B or equivalent

      Note

      Remove any oil from the contact surface.

    3. A000OYYE03

      Install a new motor water jacket cover assembly to the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly with 12 new bolts and then tighten the 4 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

    4. A000QU2E03

      Tighten the 12 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Install the motor water jacket cover within 3 minutes and tighten the bolts and nuts within 15 minutes after applying seal packing.

      • Do not add coolant within 2 hours after installing the motor water jacket cover.

      • Do not start the engine for at least 2 hours after installing the motor water jacket cover.

  2. ADD COOLANT (for Inverter)

  3. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Inverter)

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the support bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 439 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }
    2. Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket with the 2 bolts and 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  5. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
