DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Cruise Main Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the dynamic radar cruise control system is turned on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF), the cruise control indicator (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) illuminates. The driving support ECU assembly uses this and other indicators to indicate the control condition (presence or absence of a preceding vehicle, vehicle-to-vehicle distance, and set vehicle speed) and fail-safe state via CAN communication.

Tech Tips


  • The cruise control indicator illuminates when the dynamic radar cruise control system has been turned on using the ON/OFF. If a malfunction is detected, the cruise control indicator goes out and a warning message is displayed.

  • The cruise control indicator circuit uses CAN communication. If the cruise control indicator is not functioning correctly, check for CAN communication system before troubleshooting this circuit.

Note


  • When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, make sure to replace it with a new one.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (METER DISPLAY 1)


    1. Select the Active Test, use the GTS to generate a control command, and then check that the combination meter operates Click here.
