If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the power management control ECU and cancels the cruise control operation.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition

  • Cruise control indicator light turns off

  • A warning message "Cruise control malfunction Visit your dealer" is displayed

  • "Pong" warning sound is heard

Open or short in stop light switch circuit
  • Cruise control system is turned off

  • Push cruise control main switch on again


  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit

  • Problem with cruise control main switch cancel circuit

  • Malfunction in the brake control system

  • Communication stop between skid control ECU assembly and power management control ECU


  • Turn power switch off

  • Turn cruise control switch on again

Cruise control indicator light remains on (Cruise control is canceled)
  • Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approximately 40 km/h [25 mph]) while running with cruise control system on

  • Vehicle stability control system operates while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

  • TRC operates for certain amount of time while driving with cruise control

  • TRC and VSC are off

Push the cruise control main switch to +RES
Cruise control indicator light goes off Malfunction in the hybrid control system Turn the cruise control main switch on again
