CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM ROAD TEST


  1. INSPECT SET SWITCH


    1. A000ORW

      Push the cruise control main switch on.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a desired speed (between approximately 40 km/h and 200 km/h [25 mph and 125 mph]).

    3. A000OTG

      Press the main switch to the -/SET.

    4. Check that the SET indicator light in the combination meter assembly illuminates.

    5. After releasing the switch, check that the vehicle cruises at the desired speed.

  2. INSPECT "+" SWITCH


    1. A000ORW

      Push the cruise control switch button to on.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a desired speed (between approximately 40 km/h and 200 km/h [25 mph and 125 mph]).

    3. A000OTG

      Press the main switch to the -/SET.

    4. Check that the vehicle speed increases while the main switch is pulled up to +/RES, and that the vehicle cruises at the set speed when the switch is released.

    5. A000P46

      Momentarily press the main switch upward to +/RES and then immediately release it. Check that the vehicle speed increases by about 1 km/h (or 1.0 mph) (Tap-up function).

  3. INSPECT "-" SWITCH


    1. A000ORW

      Push the cruise control main switch button to on.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a desired speed (between approximately 40 km/h and 200 km/h [25 mph and 125 mph]).

    3. A000OTG

      Press the main switch to the -/SET.

    4. Check that the vehicle speed decreases while the main switch is pushed down to -/SET, and the vehicle cruises at the set speed when the switch is released.

    5. Momentarily press the main switch downward to -/SET, and then immediately release it. Check that the vehicle speed decreases by about 1 km/h (or 1.0 mph) (Tap-down function).

  4. INSPECT CANCEL SWITCH


    1. A000ORW

      Push the cruise control main switch button to on.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a desired speed (between approximately 40 km/h and 200 km/h [25 mph and 125 mph]).

    3. A000OTG

      Press the main switch to the -/SET.

    4. When performing one of the following, check that the cruise control system is canceled and that the normal driving mode is reset.


      • Depress the brake pedal

      • Pushing the cruise control main switch off

      • Turn the cruise control main switch to CANCEL

      • Moving the shift lever from D or S to any other position.

      • Selecting S3, S2, or S1 range with the shift lever in S.

      • Selecting the D3, D2 or D1 range using the transmission shift switch assembly (shift paddle switch) with the shift lever in D.

  5. INSPECT RES (RESUME) SWITCH


    1. A000ORW

      Push the cruise control main switch button to on.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a desired speed (between approximately 40 km/h and 200 km/h [25 mph and 125 mph]).

    3. A000OTG

      Press the main switch to the -/SET.

    4. A000T5X

      When performing one of the following, check that the cruise control system is canceled and that the normal driving mode is reset.


      • Depress the brake pedal

      • Moving the shift lever from D or S to any other position.

      • Selecting S3, S2, or S1 range with the shift lever in S.

      • Selecting the D3, D2 or D1 range using the transmission shift switch assembly (shift paddle switch) with the shift lever in D.

    5. A000P46

      After the main switch is pulled up to +/RES at a driving speed of more than 40 km/h (25 mph), check that the vehicle restores the speed before the cancellation.

      Tech Tips

      The stored vehicle speed is not cleared even when the actual vehicle speed drops below the low speed limit. When the actual vehicle speed becomes higher than the low speed limit, a RESUME operation can be performed.
