FUEL PUMP DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Do not disconnect the hose indicated in the illustration.

    • When replacing the fuel filter assembly, replace it together with the fuel suction plate sub-assembly.

      Disconnect the fuel pump harness from the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

      Using needle nose pliers, remove the E-ring.

    4. Remove the fuel suction plate sub-assembly and spring from the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

  3. REMOVE FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, detach the 2 claws and remove the fuel filter assembly from the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 fuel sub-tank or fuel filter assembly.

  4. REMOVE JET PUMP

      Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, disengage the claw and remove the jet pump nozzle.

      Using a clip remover with the tip taped, remove the jet pump from the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

      *1 Jet Pump
      *2 O-Ring

      Remove the O-ring from the jet pump.

  5. REMOVE FUEL PUMP HARNESS

      Disconnect the fuel pump connector from the fuel pump assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUCTION SUPPORT

      *2 No. 1 Fuel Suction Support

      Using a clip remover with the tip taped, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 fuel suction support.

  7. REMOVE FUEL WITH FILTER PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, detach the 5 claws and remove the fuel filter from the fuel with filter pump assembly.

      *2 Fuel Pump Spacer

      Remove the O-ring and fuel pump spacer from the fuel pump.

  8. REMOVE FUEL MAIN VALVE ASSEMBLY

      *1 No. 2 Fuel Suction Support
      *2 Fuel Main Valve Assembly

      Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 No. 2 fuel suction supports from the fuel filter assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 fuel main valve assemblies from the fuel filter assembly.

      Remove the 4 O-rings from the 2 fuel main valve assemblies.
