ECM REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH

  3. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER

  6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

    Click here

  7. REMOVE ECM


    1. A000SL5

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    2. Push the locks on the 2 levers, raise the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

      Note

      After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.

    3. A000RX7

      Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps.

    4. A000T5K

      Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.

      Note

      If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  8. REMOVE ECM BRACKET


    1. A000N83

      Remove the 2 bolts and ECM bracket from the engine room ECU box.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET


    1. A000QEM

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 ECM bracket from the engine room ECU cover.

  10. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER


    1. A000RQP

      Detach the 3 claws to remove the engine room ECU cover from the engine room ECU box.

  11. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU BOX


    1. Remove the engine room ECU box from the ECM.
