HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

      Component without harness connected

      (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the light control switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        22 (T) - 19 (EL) Light control switch off 10 kΩ or higher
        23 (H) - 19 (EL)
        24 (A) - 19 (EL)
        22 (T) - 19 (EL) Light control switch tail Below 1 Ω
        22 (T) - 19 (EL) Light control switch head Below 1 Ω
        23 (H) - 19 (EL)
        24 (A) - 19 (EL) Light control switch auto Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        21 (HF) - 19 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch flash Below 1 Ω
        18 (HU) - 19 (EL)
        18 (HU) - 19 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch hi beam Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    3. Inspect the turn signal switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        15 (TR) - 17 (CR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch right turn Below 1 Ω
        15 (TR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher
        14 (TL) - 16 (E)
        14 (TL) - 17 (CR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch left turn Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    4. Inspect the front fog light switch. (w/ Fog Light)


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        11 (BFG) - 10 (LFG) Front fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher
        11 (BFG) - 10 (LFG) Front fog light switch on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    5. Inspect the rear fog light switch. (w/ Rear Fog Light)


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        9 (B) - 10 (LFG) Rear fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher
        9 (B) - 10 (LFG) Rear fog light switch on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

      (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the light control switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        15 (T) - 18 (EL) Light control switch off or DRL off 10 kΩ or higher
        14 (H) - 18 (EL)
        13 (A) - 18 (EL)
        15 (T) - 18 (EL) Light control switch tail Below 1 Ω
        15 (T) - 18 (EL) Light control switch head Below 1 Ω
        14 (H) - 18 (EL)
        13 (A) - 18 (EL) Light control switch auto Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        16 (HF) - 18 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch flash Below 1 Ω
        19 (HU) - 18 (EL)
        19 (HU) - 18 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch hi beam Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    3. Inspect the turn signal switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        23 (TR) - 20 (CR) - 21 (E) Turn signal switch right turn Below 1 Ω
        23 (TR) - 21 (E) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher
        22 (TL) - 21 (E)
        22 (TL) - 20 (CR) - 21 (E) Turn signal switch left turn Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    4. Inspect the front fog light switch. (w/ Fog Light)


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        2 (BFG) - 3 (LFG) Front fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher
        2 (BFG) - 3 (LFG) Front fog light switch on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

    5. Inspect the rear fog light switch. (w/ Rear Fog Light)


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        4 (B) - 3 (LFG) Rear fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher
        4 (B) - 3 (LFG) Rear fog light switch on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.
