DESCRIPTION

If the front recognition camera is obstructed such as when the front windshield glass or forward recognition camera lens is dirty, the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH stores DTC B2438.

Note


  • When replacing the forward recognition camera, make sure to replace it with a new one. If a device which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle and, as a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • When the forward recognition camera is replaced, always perform beam axis adjustment for the forward recognition camera Click here.

  • If the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH has been replaced, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and initialize the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

  2. FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA (CHECK CONDITION)


    1. Check that the front recognition camera is not obstructed due to foreign matter on the front windshield glass or forward recognition camera lens.

      OK
      The forward recognition camera is not obstructed by foreign matter on the front windshield glass or forward recognition camera lens.

    NG

    END (Forward recognition camera was obstructed by foreign matter)

    OK

  3. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2438 is not output.

    OK

    END (Operation of the adaptive high beam system was stopped due to a forward recognition camera detection malfunction)

  4. REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA


    1. Replace the forward recognition camera with a new one Click here.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Perform beam axis adjustment for the forward recognition camera Click here.

    5. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2438 is not output.

    OK
