  1. LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


    1. If the luggage door opening switch is pressed when the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is not receiving a luggage door opening cancel switch ON signal, and the luggage compartment door is closed, the luggage compartment door lock open operation signal is sent to the luggage closer motor assembly*1 or multiplex network door ECU*2 via the CAN communication line. When the luggage closer motor assembly*1 or multiplex network door ECU*2 receives that signal, it activates the luggage compartment door closer, and opens the luggage compartment door.

    Luggage electrical key switch

    • When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held, and the luggage electrical key switch is pressed, the luggage compartment door automatically opens (w/ Entry Function).

    • When all the doors are unlocked, the luggage compartment door can be opened by pressing the luggage electrical key switch even if the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is not being carried.

    • If the luggage electrical key switch is pressed during the opening operation, the opening operation is stopped. If pressed during the closing operation, the operation is reversed.

  3. CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION


    1. Luggage Compartment Door Lock Assembly:


      • The luggage compartment door lock is mounted on the luggage compartment door and consists mainly of a link mechanism and a closer motor. It provides two functions: the closer function to automatically close the luggage compartment door, and the opener function to disengage the striker from the luggage compartment door latch.

      • The luggage compartment door lock contains 1 courtesy light switch and position detection switch in the closer motor.

    2. Luggage Closer Motor Assembly (w/ Power Trunk Lid System):


      1. General


        • In the closer mode, this system operates as follows: when the state of the luggage compartment door changes from open to ajar, the signal from the courtesy light switch changes from ON to OFF. Upon receiving this signal, the ECU actuates the motor in order to push and turn the latch via the link mechanism. As a result, the latch engages with the pole portion of the striker in order to fully close the luggage compartment door.

      3. Fail-safe


        • If a system malfunction is detected by the luggage closer motor assembly, the luggage closer motor assembly stops the system. However, even if the system is deactivated, the luggage compartment door can be opened and closed manually.

    3. Multiplex Network Door ECU (w/o Power Trunk Lid System):


      1. General


        • In the closer mode, this system operates as follows: when the state of the luggage compartment door changes from open to ajar, the signal from the courtesy light switch changes from ON to OFF.
