AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONT-LIGHTING SYSTEM) FAIL-SAFE CHART

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

    1. Headlight swivel motor

      1. When a malfunction is detected in the headlight swivel motor, fail-safe control is performed.

Item Detection Condition Control Description Fail-safe Deactivation Condition
        Motor Control Fail-safe Signal Transmission
Power source voltage malfunction Power source voltage of 17.5 V or higher is continuously detected for 1 second Stops at position where failure occurred Yes Power source voltage of 17 V or less is continuously detected for 0.2 seconds
Power source voltage of 8.5 V or less is continuously detected for 1 second Continues operating No Power source voltage of 9 V or higher is continuously detected for 0.2 seconds
Power source undervoltage condition Power source voltage of 8.5 V or less is continuously detected for 0.4 seconds During initialization, stops at position where failure occurred (continues operating after initialization) No Power source voltage of 9 V or higher is continuously detected for 0.2 seconds
Range of movement error Swivel During initialization, current position is 45° or more toward the inner side Returns to and maintains position before initialization Yes Turn power off and on again
Leveling During initialization, current position is 25 mm or more toward the lower side Stops at position where failure occurred Yes Turn power off and on again
Communication malfunction Swivel Normal data is continuously not received from the ECU for 1 second Returns to and maintains the normal position No (communication is reset every 0.01 seconds) Normal data is received from the ECU
Leveling Moves down or maintains position where failure occurred
