  1. AFS OPERATION CHECK

    Note

Make sure that the customize settings are set to default when performing the adaptive high beam system operation check.

    1. Check that initialization (determination of the initial position) of the swivel motor occurs after the power switch is on (READY).

    2. Perform the following operation with the low beam headlights on and check that the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH performs low speed control of the AFS:

      • Drive the vehicle at a speed between 10 km/h (6 mph) and 30 km/h (19 mph) and turn the steering wheel 6 degrees or more.

    3. Perform the following operation with the low beam headlights on and check that the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH performs medium-to-high speed control of the AFS:

      • Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more and turn the steering wheel 7.5 degrees or more.

    4. Perform any of the following operations and check that the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH cancels control of the AFS:

      • The power switch not on (READY).

      • Turn the low beam headlights off.

      • Decrease the vehicle speed to less than 10 km/h (6 mph).

      • Reduce the steering angle to less than 6 degrees.

      • Move the shift lever to N or R.
