VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM Stop Light Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The vehicle approaching speaker controller detects brake operation through a signal from the luggage room junction block assembly (rear junction block ECU). When it is detected that the brake is not operating through a signal received from the stop light switch assembly via the luggage room junction block assembly (rear junction block ECU), vehicle approaching speaker operation is then possible.

  1. CHECK STOP LIGHT OPERATION


    1. Confirm that the stop lights illuminate properly.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY [REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU])


    1. Disconnect the L201 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

    2. Disconnect the S64 luggage room junction block assembly (rear junction block ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L201-2 (STP) - S64-9 (STP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      L201-2 (STP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
