  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)

    Click here

  4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

    Click here

  5. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Type)

  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate LH.

    2. Using moulding remover D, detach the 4 clips.

    3. A000XK5

      Detach the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the cowl side trim board LH.

  13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

    *1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip

    1. Pull the upper part of the front pillar garnish LH toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.

      Tech Tips

      Allow the front pillar garnish to hang by the front pillar garnish clip.

      *2 Protective Tape

      Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.

    3. Pull the front pillar garnish LH to detach the guide and remove it.

      Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

      Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.

  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate LH.

    2. Using moulding remover D, detach the 3 clips.

      Detach the 7 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  18. REMOVE CENTER LOWER PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Detach the 2 claws and 6 clips, and remove the center lower pillar garnish LH.

  19. REMOVE CENTER LOWER PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE CENTER UPPER PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the claw, guide and remove the center upper pillar garnish LH.

    3. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the center upper pillar garnish LH.

  21. REMOVE CENTER UPPER PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  22. REMOVE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR COVER LH

    1. Slide the shoulder belt anchor cover in the direction of the arrow to detach the 6 claws and remove it from the center upper pillar garnish LH.

  23. REMOVE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR COVER RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  24. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH

    1. Detach the 6 claws and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.

  25. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  26. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

    *1 Clip A

    1. Pull the inner roof side garnish LH away from the body to detach the 4 clips (do not detach clip A).

    2. Detach the 2 claws of the guide, and pull the inner roof side garnish LH in the direction of the arrow to remove it.

      Tech Tips

      Clip A remains attached to the body.

    3. Remove clip A from the vehicle body.

  27. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  28. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 covers.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.

    3. Using moulding remover D, detach the 2 clips and remove the map light assembly.

    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

  29. REMOVE SPOT LIGHT LENS (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)

    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the spot light lens.

  30. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)

      w/o Sliding Roof:


      1. Remove the 2 screws.

      2. Detach the 6 clips, 2 claws and 2 hooks and remove the roof console box assembly.

      3. Disconnect the connector.

    2. A000WDW

      w/ Sliding Roof:


      1. Remove the 2 screws.

      2. Detach the 6 clips and 2 hooks and remove the roof console box assembly.

      3. Disconnect the connector.

  31. REMOVE SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System)

    1. Using moulding remover D, detach the 4 claws and remove the spot light assembly.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  32. REMOVE REAR VANITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to remove the vanity light on the other side.


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the lens.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.

    3. Using moulding remover D, detach the claw and remove the vanity light assembly.

    4. Disconnect the connector.

  33. REMOVE COAT HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)

    1. Remove the screw and coat hook.

  34. REMOVE ROOF SIDE REGISTER BEZEL LH (w/ Rear Cooler)

    2. Detach the claw and remove the roof side register LH.

  36. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.

  37. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER

    Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.


    1. Using moulding remover D, detach the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

  38. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  40. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to remove the holder on the other side.


    1. Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.

    1. Disconnect the roof wire connectors and detach each wire harness clamp from the front pillar LH.

      Disconnect each connector and each wire harness clamp.

    3. A000TQI

      w/o Sliding Roof, w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Detach the hook, 12 claws, 3 fasteners and 4 clips.

    4. A000WSG

      w/o Sliding Roof, w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Detach the hook, 12 claws, 2 fasteners and 4 clips.

    5. A000W32

      Detach the hook, 12 claws, 10 fasteners and 4 clips.

    6. A000UBR

      w/ Sliding Roof, w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Detach the hook, 12 claws, 8 fasteners and clips.

    7. A000UNX

      Remove the roof headlining assembly through the front of the vehicle.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when taking it out.

  46. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  47. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
