Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

    Click here

  4. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)

    Click here

  5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

    Click here

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL

    1. Apply protective tape to the area around the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips in the order shown in the illustration.

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. Remove the screw and illumination light.

    5. Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

  9. REMOVE ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSOR (w/ Rear Cooler)

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. A000UIC

      for Long Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 13 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A000XZA

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the trim board.

    2. A000YYZ

      for Standard Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 11 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A000XZA

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the trim board.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. A000X9I

      for Long Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 14 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A000XZA

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

    2. A000ZVB

      for Standard Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 12 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A000XZA

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000Y9F

      Detach the claw, disconnect the connector and then remove the light.

  13. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A000VLB

      Detach the claw.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the courtesy light assembly.

  14. REMOVE REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (w/ Rear Seat Memory System)

  15. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 19 Speakers)

    Click here

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM COVER LH

      Remove the cushion.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the rear door trim cover LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH


    1. A000ZVY

      w/o Rear Door Sunshade:


      1. Remove the screw and detach the clip.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

    2. A000UPN

      w/ Rear Door Sunshade:


      1. Detach the 2 clips.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 3 WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear door No. 3 weatherstrip LH.

  23. REMOVE NO. 1 AUTO CURTAIN RAIL BRACKET LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)

      Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the No. 1 auto curtain rail bracket LH.

  24. REMOVE REAR SIDE TRIM BOARD COVER LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)

      Remove the 2 screws and rear side trim board cover LH.

  25. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. for Long Body:


      1. A000WP2

        Remove the rear door glass inner weatherstrip LH by pulling it upward in the direction indicated by the arrow.

    2. for Standard Body:


      1. A000U8S

        Remove the rear door glass inner weatherstrip LH by pulling it upward in the direction indicated by the arrow.

  26. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  27. REMOVE REAR DOOR SPEAKER COVER

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Disconnect the claw and remove the rear door speaker cover.

  28. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 19 Speakers)

  29. REMOVE REAR DOOR ECU LH


    1. A000XCU

      Remove the 2 screws and rear door ECU LH.

    2. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

  30. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH


    1. A000XPK

      Remove the rear door service hole cover LH.

  31. REMOVE REAR DOOR DIVISION BAR LOWER BRACKET LH


    1. A000US2

      Remove the 3 nuts and rear door division bar lower bracket LH.

  32. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000VZS

      Remove the 2 nuts.

    2. Remove the rear door window division bar sub-assembly LH together with the rear door glass run LH.

  33. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH


    1. Remove the rear door glass run LH from the division bar assembly.

  34. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH


    1. A000VTU

      Remove the rear door quarter window glass LH and rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH as a unit as shown in the illustration.

  35. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the hole plug.

    2. A000UKR

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.

    3. Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the glass upward.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the glass.

  36. REMOVE REAR DOOR UPPER WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH


    1. for Standard Body:

  37. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING LH


    1. A000TJ3

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. A000XIL

      Loosen the 5 belt line screws indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

    3. Remove the 3 screws.

    4. A000Z8DE05

      Put protective tape around the rear door belt moulding LH.

    5. While making sure not to pull the rear door belt moulding LH away from the vehicle, rotate the rear door belt moulding LH in the direction shown in the illustration and remove it.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the door panel when rotating the belt moulding.

      Tech Tips

      The clip will break when the rear belt moulding is removed.

    6. Remove the remaining part of the clip from the body.

  38. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT WINDOW GUIDE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000UGM

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear door front window guide sub-assembly LH.

  39. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. A000U1DE04

      *1 Temporary Bolt

      Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the window regulator may fall and become damaged.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

  40. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000XDS

      Using a T25 ''TORX'' driver, remove the 3 screws and power window regulator motor assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

  41. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH.

  43. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  44. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH

      Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket, loosen the screw and remove the rear door outside handle cover LH.

  45. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000XYE

      Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

    2. A000YGG

      Disconnect the connector.

    3. Remove the rear door outside handle assembly LH by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  46. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000UN7

      Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket, remove the screw and rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the outside handle frame through the service hole.

    2. A000V6A

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps.

  47. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Rear Door)


    1. A000ZC2

      Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.

  48. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD


    1. A000ULA

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door front outside handle pad.

  49. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD


    1. A000WAI

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear door rear outside handle pad.

  50. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK COVER LH


    1. A000U8V

      Remove the rear door check cover LH.

  51. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A000TE9

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and rear door check assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the door check through the service hole.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the door check may fall and become damaged.

  52. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. for Long Body:


      1. A000VLJ

        Detach the 19 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip LH.

    2. for Standard Body:


      1. A000VF0

        Detach the 18 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip LH.
