PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)


    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door closer Click here.

      Back Door:
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Close Motor Pos1 Closer motor position switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Closer motor position switch is ON

      OFF: Closer motor position switch is OFF

      Pawl Position SW Pawl switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Pawl switch is ON

      OFF: Pawl switch is OFF

      		 -
      Courtesy SW Courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Courtesy switch is ON

      OFF: Courtesy switch is OFF

      		 -
      OK
      On GTS screen, each item changes between ON and OFF as shown in above chart.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER - LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR)

    *1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Luggage Closer Motor)
    *2 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Luggage Compartment Door Closer)
    *3 PAWL
    *4 LOPN

    1. Disconnect the S43 motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the S36 closer connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S43-24 (LOPN) - S36-2 (OPN) Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-20 (PAWL) - S36-5 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-22 (LCTY) - S36-7 (CTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-8 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-2 (OPN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S36-5 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S36-7 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily replace the luggage compartment door closer with a new or normally functioning one Click here.
