FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Note

If the seat is set down in another location after removing it from the vehicle, the seat may tilt and damage the front seat adjuster assembly LH due to the difference in shape between the left and right seat tracks.

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
1. Install the front seat assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
  Note
  - Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
  - Make sure the seatback does not contact the shift lever knob.
  - Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.
  Tech Tips
  
  Install the front seat assembly LH through the door frame so that it passes under the steering wheel.
2. Connect the 5 connectors under the seat.
  
  Note
  
  Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.
3. Attach the wire harness clamp.
4. Temporarily install the front seat assembly with the 4 bolts.
5. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
  
  Note
  
  When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
6. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the rearmost position.
7. Tighten the 2 bolts.
  
  Torque:
  
  37 N*m { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
8. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the foremost position.
9. Tighten the 2 bolts.
  
  Torque:
  
  37 N*m { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
ENABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION
1. Restore the autoaway/return function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter Click here.
INSTALL INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH
1. Attach the 2 claws to install the inner seat track bracket cover LH.
INSTALL OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure described for the inner seat track bracket cover LH.
INSTALL INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Front Passenger Side with Ottoman)

  *1 Fastening Tape
  
  Attach the 2 claws to install the inner seat track bracket cover RH.
2. Attach the 2 pieces of fastening tape.
INSTALL OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Front Passenger Side with Ottoman)

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure described for the inner seat track bracket cover RH.
CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
1. Connect the anchor part of the front seat outer belt assembly LH with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP LH
1. Attach the guide and 4 claws to install the seat belt anchor cover cap LH by pushing it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
2. After installing the seat belt anchor cover cap LH, pull out the seat belt toward the front as shown in the illustration.
  
  Note
  
  When installing the seat belt anchor cover cap LH, the seat belt will get pushed in and shorten. Therefore, perform the above to return the seat belt to the proper position.

INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH
1. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the rearmost position.
2. Attach the 2 claws to install the front seat inner track bracket cover LH.
