FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM Power Seat Power Easy Access System Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the power switch is off and the shift lever is in P, the power seat slides rearwards when the seat belt tongue plate is disengaged from the front seat inner belt assembly (auto away function). Also the power seat slides forward when the seat belt tongue plate is engaged with the front seat inner belt assembly with the power switch on (ACC) or on (IG), or the shift lever in P.

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT OPERATION


    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch Click here.

      OK
      Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (BUCKLE SWITCH)


    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the seat buckle switch.

      ON: Tongue plate is engaged

      OFF: Tongue plate is not engaged

  3. REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH (for Driver Side)

  5. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

      *1 Component without harness connected: (Front Seat Inner Belt)

      Remove the front seat inner belt assembly Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (+) - 2 (E) Seat belt fastened Below 1 Ω
      1 (+) - 2 (E) Seat belt unfastened 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT AND BODY GROUND)


    1. for LHD:

      1. Disconnect the e46 switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the e54 inner belt connector.

    2. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect the e79 switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the e57 inner belt connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e46-15 (DBCL) - e54-1 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-15 (DBCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e54-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e79-15 (DBCL) - e57-1 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      e79-15 (DBCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e57-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
