FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM Power Seat does not Return to Memorized Position

DESCRIPTION

When a seat memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) is pressed, the front multiplex network ECU LH commands the front power seat switch LH (driver seat ECU) through CAN communication to restore each position sensor's value, and each motor operates so that each position sensor is adjusted to the value recorded in the front power seat switch LH (driver seat ECU).

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL FUNCTION

    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switches.

      OK
Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches.

    NG
    OK
  2. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION)

    1. Perform a memory operation properly. Check that the buzzer sounds to indicate the completion of the memory operation.

      Note

      • The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the memory switches (for example, M1 and M2) are pressed simultaneously.

      • The seat position will not be recorded if a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) is not pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the SET switch.

      • If a memorizing operation has failed, release all the switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

      OK
Seat memory switch function operates normally.

    NG
    OK
  3. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT RESTORING OPERATION)

    1. Under each of the following conditions, check that the seat restoring operation operates by pressing the M1, M2 or M3 switch.

      • The power switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is on P.

      • The power switch is off, a door is opened and the M1, M2 or M3 switch is pressed within 180 seconds.

      • The power switch is off, the driver side door is opened and then closed, and the M1, M2 or M3 switch is pressed within 60 seconds. (Only for driver side)

  4. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SEAT POSITION MEMORY)

    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the seat position memory.
