CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT SYSTEM

GENERAL

The climate control seat system creates cold air to increase the comfort of seats that have become hot.

The air is cooled by the Peltier element on the back of the seat cushion pad and seatback. The air is then sent to the seat cushion and seatback by the fan installed under the seat. The fan is operated by pressing the climate control seat switch.

The climate control seat switch has 7 modes in total: 3 cooled air modes, 3 heater modes and ventilation mode.

Tech Tips

When the highest level for cooled air operates for 15 minutes, the quantity of air falls 1 level.
Seat heater operation using the rear seat module switch can be prohibited by turning on rear seat prohibition on the accessory meter screen.

Climate Control ECU	Controls system based on signals from temperature sensor and climate control switch While system is activated, only driver side, rear LH and RH side climate control ECU LH, RH output A/C signals. Monitors output amperage of climate control fan motor.
Front Seat Heater (seat cushion and seatback)	Fast acting seat heater warms seat in initial stage of heating mode.
Rear Seat Heater (seat cushion and seatback)	Fast acting seat heater warms seat in initial stage of heating mode.

SYSTEM OPERATION

Normal control	This system operates climate control fan motor located underneath seat to provide airflow to seat cushion and seatback. Airflow is cooled by Peltier element in climate controller. Air that flows to seat surface is distributed by passing through grooves that are provided on seat pad surface. Air is then dissipated throughout seat surface through slab urethane foam and is discharged through seat cover.	○	○	○	○
Power ON full-power control	This control outputs maximum voltage to climate controller and climate control fan motor for approximately 15 minutes only when conditions listed below have been met: Power switch position is ON After climate control switch is turned ON, switch mode is subsequently turned to MAX COOL within approximately 10 minutes. Rear seat heater is not operating (heater is an optional equipment).	○	○	○	○
A/C output control	Climate control seat ECU outputs A/C signal to driver seat ECU while it controls climate control seat system. Driver seat ECU sends demand signal for A/C control to A/C amplifier.	○	○	○	○
