DESCRIPTION

If the telematics transceiver detects an error in communication between the telematics transceiver and center airbag sensor assembly as a result of the telematics transceiver self check, this DTC will be stored.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)


    1. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output Click here.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    NG

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Click here

    OK

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      B15C4 is not output.

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L191 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the L73 center airbag sensor assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L191-24 (GSW) - L73-24 (GSW3) Always Below 1 Ω
      L191-24 (GSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. INSPECT TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER


    1. A000ZRRE02

      Disconnect the L191 telematics transceiver connector.

      Check the input waveform.


      1. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below. (Check the waveform from the back of the wire harness connector of the telematics transceiver while the center airbag sensor assembly connectors are connected.)

        Tool setting 5.0 V/DIV., 20 ms./DIV.

  5. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the center airbag sensor assembly with a new or known good one Click here.

  6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      B15C4 is not output.
