DESCRIPTION

Based on the WDD signal (power steering converter condition notification signal) from the power steering converter, the power steering ECU processes and outputs signals. Based on the ASST signal (EPS demand signal) from the power steering ECU, the power steering converter processes and outputs signals.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING ECU - POWER STEERING CONVERTER)


    1. Disconnect the A44 power steering ECU connector.

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Power Steering ECU)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Power Steering Converter)
      *3 ASST

    2. Disconnect the n1 power steering converter connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A44-10 (ASST) - n1-7 (ASST) Always Below 1 Ω
      A44-7 (WDD1) - n1-1 (WDD1)
      A44-10 (ASST) or n1-7 (ASST) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A44-7 (WDD1) or n1-1 (WDD1) - Body ground

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING CONVERTER POWER SUPPLY)


    1. A000VWFE01
      *1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Power Steering Converter)

      Disconnect the n1 power steering converter connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      n1-5 (IG) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V

  3. REPLACE POWER STEERING CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
