  • Use the same procedures for the RHD and LHD.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LHD.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)

    Click here

  4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

    Click here

  5. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter Click here.

      Note

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      Tech Tips

      Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the power switch is OFF.

    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.

    3. Turn the power switch OFF and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)


    1. A000V06

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 claws to remove the steering column cover lower.

      Note

      Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

    3. Detach the 4 clips.

    4. A000UUF

      Detach the claw to remove the upper steering column cover.

  9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)


    1. A000UDD

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 claws to remove the lower steering column cover.

      Note

      Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

    3. Detach the 4 clips.

    4. A000TKN

      Detach the claw and remove the upper steering column cover.

      Note

      Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

    5. Disconnect the driver monitor connector.

  10. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connectors from the turn signal switch with spiral cable.

      Using pliers, grip the claws of the clamp and remove the turn signal switch with spiral cable from the steering column.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the wiring harness protector.

      Remove the bolt, and detach the 2 claws and air duct.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

      Put matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft and the steering column.

    2. Remove the bolt.

      Put matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft and the steering link.

    4. Remove the bolt.

    5. A000VRC

      Remove the clamp and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft.

  14. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (TILT STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR)


    1. Disconnect the connectors and wire harness clamps from the steering column.

    2. A000TIR

      Remove the 4 nuts and steering column.
