DESCRIPTION

Electric battery fuses are provided for various parts of the hybrid system to provide overcurrent protection. For this DTC, the battery smart unit monitors the voltage between terminals VC5 and VC6 to confirm the condition of the electric battery fuse in the service plug grip.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTCS (DTC P0AFC-123 IS OUTPUT)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

  2. INSPECT SERVICE PLUG GRIP

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.


    1. A000YQ4

      Turn the power switch off and remove the service plug grip Click here.

      Note

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY) unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  4. CLEAR DTC (HV)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.

  5. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.
