PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B

  2. CLEAR DTC (HV)


    1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    2. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

      *1 Component with harness connected: (Airbag ECU Assembly)

      Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag ECU assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION


    1. A000TY2E01
      *1 Component with harness connected: (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
      *2 Component with harness connected: (Airbag ECU Assembly)

      Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU and airbag ECU assembly connectors.

      OK
      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. A000YGVE01
      *1 Rear view of wire harness connector: (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
      *2 Rear view of wire harness connector: (to Airbag ECU Assembly)

      Disconnect connector A78 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Disconnect connector L73 from the airbag ECU assembly.

    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A78-31 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V

      Note

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU and airbag ECU assembly connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    6. Turn the power switch off.

    7. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (Check for open)
