After confirming that DTC P0A38-257 or P0A39-259 is output, use the intelligent tester to check "Motor Temp No2" in the HV ECU data list.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)


    1. A000XH7E01
      *1 Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU

      Check the connection condition of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors and the contact pressure of each terminal. Check the terminals for deformation, and check the connector for water ingress and foreign matter.

      - The connector is connected securely.
      - The terminals are not deformed and are connected securely.
      - No water or foreign matter in the connector.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MOTOR2 TEMP)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Motor Temp No2.

    4. Read the data list.

  3. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU


    1. Turn the power switch off.

      Connect terminals 25 (GMT) and 24 (GMTG) of connector E58 of the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Motor Temp No2.

    5. Read the data list.

      Disconnect the generator temperature sensor connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Reconnect the generator temperature sensor connector.

  6. CHECK GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

      Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
