    OK
  2. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (SL1 SOLENOID VALVE, SL2 SOLENOID VALVE)

    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. A000VU4E02
*1 Rear view of wire harness connector: (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

Disconnect connector E58 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E58-3 (SL1+) - E58-2 (SL1-) Approximately -10°C (14°F)

      4.68 Ω

      (Reference)

      Approximately 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      Approximately 80°C (176°F)

      6.54 Ω

      (Reference)

      Approximately 120°C (248°F)

      7.36 Ω

      (Reference)

      E58-11 (SL2+) - E58-10 (SL2-) Approximately -10°C (14°F)

      4.68 Ω

      (Reference)

      Approximately 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      Approximately 80°C (176°F)

      6.54 Ω

  4. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (TRANSMISSION WIRE CONNECTOR)

    1. A000TLIE01
      *1 Transmission Wire

Check the connection of the transmission wire connector.

      OK
The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU)

    1. A000XAEE03
*1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Transmission Wire)
*2 Rear view of wire harness connector: (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

      Disconnect the transmission wire connector.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E58-2 (SL1-) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      E58-3 (SL1+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      E58-10 (SL2-) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      E58-11 (SL2+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V

      Note

Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (Check for open)
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E58-2 (SL1-) - E64-13 (SL1-) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      E58-3 (SL1+) - E64-6 (SL1+) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      E58-10 (SL2-) - E64-12 (SL2-) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      E58-11 (SL2+) - E64-5 (SL2+) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      Standard resistance (Check for short)
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
E58-2 (SL1-) or E64-13 (SL1-) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
E58-3 (SL1+) or E64-6 (SL1+) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
E58-10 (SL2-) or E64-12 (SL2-) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
E58-11 (SL2+) or E64-5 (SL2+) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      Tech Tips

The SL1 and SL2 solenoid valves are not available separately. If either of them requires replacement, replace the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
