DTC No. INF Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
P0711 883

As a result of comparing the fluid temperature and coolant temperature with the power switch on (READY), the fluid temperature exceeds a specified level while the coolant temperature is less than the specified level.

(2 trip detection)

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Hybrid vehicle transmission assembly

  • Hybrid vehicle control ECU

  • Transmission wire (transmission fluid temperature sensor)

Tech Tips

DTC P0711-833 can be set if the engine coolant temperature changes from 35°C (95°F) or less to 60°C (140°F) after the power switch is turned on (READY).

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - TRANSMISSION WIRE)

    1. A000TR8E01
*1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Transmission Wire)
*2 Rear view of wire harness connector: (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

      Disconnect the transmission wire connector.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
E58-33 (THO) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      A76-5 (E2) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      Note

Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
