DESCRIPTION
The hybrid vehicle control ECU compares the engine speed sent from the ECM via CAN communication and the engine speed that is indicated by pulses sent from the ECM. If the pulse input is not normal, the hybrid vehicle control ECU sets this DTC.

PROCEDURE
CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM)
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Check if DTCs are output.

Turn the power switch off.
Disconnect connector A77 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
Disconnect connector A14 from the ECM.
Turn the power switch on (IG).

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Note
Turning the power switch on (IG) with the ECM and hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
Turn the power switch off.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
