FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH

   Click here

3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

   Click here

4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

   Click here

5. REMOVE RESONATOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the bolt and resonator bracket sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

   Click here

7. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

   Click here

8. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the crankshaft timing gear key from the crankshaft.

9. REMOVE FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the front crankshaft oil seal with a screwdriver.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Note

      Do not damage the surface of the front crankshaft oil seal press fit hole and crankshaft.

10. INSTALL FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

    
    

    1. 

       Using SST, tap in a new front crankshaft oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover edge.

       Note

       
       

       • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

       • Do not tap the front crankshaft oil seal at an angle.

11. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

    
    

    1. 

       Install the crankshaft timing gear key.

12. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

13. INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    Click here

14. INSTALL RESONATOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Install the resonator bracket sub-assembly with the bolt.

       Torque:

       20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

15. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

16. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH

17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

18. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT
