SFI SYSTEM INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE

Before performing the Data List and Active Test of the engine with the GTS, be sure to put the system into inspection mode using the following procedures.


  1. ACTIVATING INSPECTION MODE


    1. When not using the GTS


      1. Perform the following steps in 60 seconds.


        1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

        2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal 4 times with the transmission in the P position.

        3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal 4 times with the transmission in the N position.

        4. Fully depress the accelerator pedal 4 times with the transmission in the P position.

        5. Check that the "AWD Maintenance Mode" on the multi-information display is illuminated in the combination meter.

        6. Turn the power switch on (READY).

          Note

          If the vehicle is driven in inspection mode, the hybrid vehicle transmission may be damaged. Therefore, make sure to exit inspection mode before performing the driving test.

      2. To end inspection mode, turn the power switch off.

    2. When using the GTS


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      3. Turn the tester ON.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Utility / Inspection Mode.

      5. Check that the "AWD Maintenance Mode" on the multi-information display is illuminated in the combination meter.

      6. Turn the power switch on (READY).

        Note

        If the vehicle is driven in inspection mode, the hybrid vehicle transmission may be damaged. Therefore, make sure to exit inspection mode before performing the driving test.

      7. To end inspection mode, turn the power switch off.
