ENTRY AND START SYSTEM Driver Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the driver door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock operation operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. Either of the following may have occurred: 1) the door outside handle touch sensor is malfunctioning; or 2) the front door ECU LH receives the door outside handle touch sensor ON signal, but is unable to send the signal to the certification ECU through CAN communication.

  • Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to the "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" and "LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM".

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the master switch's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock Click here.

      OK
      Locked doors unlock.

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Click here

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List Click here.

      Lock Position SW Driver side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Driver side door is unlocked

      OFF: Driver side door is locked

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the N10 or N1 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the N20 or N18 oscillator connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N10-15 (SEL) - N20-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      N10-15 (SEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N1-15 (SEL) -N18-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      N1-15 (SEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)

    1. Disconnect the N20 or N18 oscillator connector.

    2. Disconnect the N21 or N19 handle connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N20-2 (SGT2) - N21-6 (SGT1) Always Below 1 Ω
      N20-2 (SGT2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N18-2 (SGT2) - N19-6 (SGT1) Always Below 1 Ω
      N18-2 (SGT2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
