PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

  2. INSPECT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH)

    for LHD
    *1 Component without harness connected: (Hood Lock Assembly)
    *2 UNLOCK Position
    *3 LOCK Position

    1. for LHD:


      1. Remove the hood lock Click here.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 UNLOCK position Below 1 Ω
        1 - 2 LOCK position 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Component without harness connected: (Hood Lock Assembly)
      *2 UNLOCK Position
      *3 LOCK Position
    2. for RHD:


      1. Remove the hood lock Click here.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 UNLOCK position Below 1 Ω
        1 - 2 LOCK position 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER - HOOD LOCK AND BODY GROUND)

    *3 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Hood Lock)

    1. Disconnect the B14 front controller connector.

    2. Disconnect the B7 switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B14-21 (HDCY) - B7-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      B7-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      B14-21 (HDCY) or B7-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
