SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR

      Component without harness connected

      (Smog Ventilation Sensor)

      Measure the resistance of the connector. (CO, HC)


      1. Connect a 12 V battery positive (+) lead to terminal 3 (IG) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (E).

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 (SG) - 2 (DGS) Spray with exhaust gas (CO, HC) 10 to 40 kΩ

        If the result is not as specified, replace the smog ventilation sensor.

      Measure the resistance of the connector. (NOx)


      1. Connect a 12 V battery positive (+) lead to terminal 3 (IG) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (E).

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 (SG) - 4 (DGS1) Spray with exhaust gas (NOx) 10 to 40 kΩ

        If the result is not as specified, replace the smog ventilation sensor.
