AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Rear Magnetic Valve Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The rear cooler expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) is controlled by the rear junction block ECU and the air conditioning amplifier via the CAN communication line.

Tech Tips

This circuit uses the CAN communication line. Before performing the inspection, check that the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

  2. INSPECT FUSE (RR-IG1-2)

    1. Remove the RR-IG1-2 fuse from the luggage room junction block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      RR-IG1-2 fuse Always Below 1 Ω

*2 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Rear Junction Block ECU)

    1. Disconnect the S90 rear air conditioning harness connector.

    2. Disconnect the S62 rear junction block ECU connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S90-1 (+S) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S90-7 (RMGV) - S62-5 (RMGV) Always Below 1 Ω
S90-7 (RMGV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S62-5 (RMGV) - Body ground

    OK
  4. REPLACE REAR MAGNETIC VALVE

    1. Replace the rear magnetic valve Click here.

      Tech Tips

Since the rear magnetic valve cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the rear magnetic valve with a normal one and check that the condition returns to normal.

      OK
      Same problem does not occur.
