TRIP SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH (for LHD, w/o Night View System)

    Component without harness connected

    (Trip switch)

    1. Inspect the trip switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        7 (A/B) - 6 (E) TRIP switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher
        5 (RSET) - 6 (E) RESET switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher

      2. Apply battery voltage to the switch connector and check that the trip switch illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 2 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 8 (ILL-)

        		 Illumination illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the trip switch.

  2. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH (for RHD, w/o Night View System)

    1. Inspect the trip switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        7 (A/B) - 6 (E) TRIP switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher
        5 (RSET) - 6 (E) RESET switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher

      2. Apply battery voltage to the switch connector and check that the trip switch illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 2 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 8 (ILL-)

        		 Illumination illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the trip switch.

  3. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH (for LHD, w/ Night View System)

    1. Inspect the trip switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Off 10 kΩ or higher
        5 (RSET) - 6 (E) RESET switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher
        4 (NVM) - 6 (E) Night view switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher

      2. Apply battery voltage to the switch connector and check that the trip switch illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 2 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 8 (ILL-)

        		 Illumination illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the trip switch.

  4. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH (for RHD, w/ Night View System)

        Off 10 kΩ or higher
        5 (RSET) - 6 (E) RESET switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher
        4 (NVM) - 6 (E) Night view switch pushed Below 200 Ω
        Off 10 kΩ or higher

      2. Apply battery voltage to the switch connector and check that the trip switch illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 2 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 8 (ILL-)

        		 Illumination illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the trip switch.
