PROCEDURE


  1. REPLACE STRAIGHT PIN

    Note

    It is not necessary to remove the straight pin unless it is being replaced.


    1. Remove the straight pins.

    2. Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap in new straight pins to the cylinder block.

      Pin A 23 mm (0.9055 in.)
      Pin B 11 mm (0.4331 in.)
      Pin C 9 mm (0.3543 in.)
      Pin D 6 mm (0.2362 in.)
  2. REPLACE STUD BOLT

    Note

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.


    1. Remove the stud bolts.

    2. Using an E8 and E10 "TORX" socket wrench, install the stud bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
      for Stud bolt A
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }
      for Stud bolt B
  3. REPLACE TIGHT PLUG

    Note

    If water leaks from the tight plug or the plug corrodes, replace it.


    1. Remove the tight plug.

    2. A001AITE01
      *1 Adhesive

      Apply adhesive around the tight plug.

      Adhesive:
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
    3. A001EOKE01
      *1 0.2 to 1.2 mm (0.008 to 0.047 in.)

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the tight plug as shown in the illustration.
