Tech Tips

When installing the back door outside garnish protector, heat the rear lower license plate bracket and back door ornament surface using a heat light.

Rear Lower License Plate Bracket 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
Back Door Ornament 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

Note

Do not heat the back door outside garnish excessively.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH PROTECTOR


    1. for Rear Lower License Plate Bracket:


      1. When using a new rear lower license plate bracket:


        1. Clean the rear lower license plate bracket surface.

        2. Using a heat light, heat the rear lower license plate bracket surface.

      2. When reusing the rear lower license plate bracket:


        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear lower license plate bracket surface.

        2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear lower license plate bracket.

        3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      3. Install the back door outside garnish protector.

    2. for Rear License Light Cover:


      1. When using a new back door ornament:


        1. Clean the rear back door ornament surface.

        2. Using a heat light, heat the back door ornament surface.

      2. When reusing the back door ornament:


        1. Using a heat light, heat the back door ornament surface.

        2. Remove the double-sided tape from the back door ornament.

        3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      3. Install the back door outside garnish protector.

  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR ORNAMENT


    1. Attach the 6 claws to install the back door ornament.

  3. INSTALL LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY SWITCH (w/ Entry and Start System)

  4. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the license plate light with the 4 screws.

  5. INSTALL REAR LICENSE LIGHT COVER


    1. Install the rear license light cover with the 5 screws.

  6. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT CORD (w/o Entry and Start System)


    1. Connect the connector to install the license plate cord.
