HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LH Side Type)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the light control switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance

         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 18 (T) - 15 (EL) Light control switch OFF or DRL-OFF 10 kΩ or higher 19 (H) - 15 (EL) 20 (A) - 15 (EL) 20 (A) - 15 (EL) Light control switch AUTO or DRL Below 1 Ω 18 (T) - 15 (EL) Light control switch Tail Below 1 Ω 18 (T) - 15 (EL) Light control switch Head Below 1 Ω 19 (H) - 15 (EL) If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 14 (HU) - 15 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch flash Below 1 Ω 17 (HF) - 15 (EL) 14 (HU) - 15 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch high beam Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

   3. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the turn signal light switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance

         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 11 (TL) - 15 (EL) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher 12 (TR) - 15 (EL) 13 (CR) - 15 (EL) 11 (TL) - 15 (EL) Turn signal switch left turn (self cancel condition) Below 1 Ω 11 (TL) - 15 (EL) Turn signal switch left turn (cancel ratchet operation condition) Below 1 Ω 11 (TL) - 13 (CR) 13 (CR) - 15 (EL) 12 (TR) - 15 (EL) Turn signal switch right turn (self cancel condition) Below 1 Ω 12 (TR) - 15 (EL) Turn signal switch right turn (cancel ratchet operation condition) Below 1 Ω 12 (TR) - 13 (CR) 13 (CR) - 15 (EL) If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

         Tech Tips

         
         

         • The self cancel condition indicates when the turn signal switch returns to the neutral position after releasing your hand from the switch (switch is operated within 7°).

         • The cancel ratchet operation condition indicates the condition when the turn signal switch does not return to the neutral position even after releasing your hand (switch is operated within 12°).

   4. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the front fog light switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (BFG) - 8 (LFG) Front fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher 9 (BFG) - 8 (LFG) Front fog light switch on Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

   5. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the rear fog light switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 7 (B) - 8 (LFG) Rear fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher 7 (B) - 8 (LFG) Rear fog light switch on Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RH Side Type)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the light control switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance

         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 11 (A) - 16 (EL) Light control switch OFF or DRL-OFF 10 kΩ or higher 12 (H) - 16 (EL) 13 (T) - 16 (EL) 11 (A) - 16 (EL) Light control switch AUTO or DRL Below 1 Ω 13 (T) - 16 (EL) Light control switch Tail Below 1 Ω 12 (H) - 16 (EL) Light control switch Head Below 1 Ω 13 (T) - 16 (EL) If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 14 (HF) - 16 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch flash Below 1 Ω 17 (HU) - 16 (EL) 17 (HU) - 16 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch high beam Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

   3. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the turn signal light switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance

         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 19 (TL) - 16 (EL) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher 20 (TR) - 16 (EL) 18 (CR) - 16 (EL) 19 (TL) - 16 (EL) Turn signal switch left turn (self cancel condition) Below 1 Ω 19 (TL) - 16 (EL) Turn signal switch left turn (cancel ratchet operation condition) Below 1 Ω 19 (TL) - 18 (CR) 18 (CR) - 16 (EL) 20 (TR) - 16 (EL) Turn signal switch right turn (self cancel condition) Below 1 Ω 20 (TR) - 16 (EL) Turn signal switch right turn (cancel ratchet operation condition) Below 1 Ω 20 (TR) - 18 (CR) 18 (CR) - 16 (EL) If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

         Tech Tips

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 2 (BFG) - 3 (LFG) Front fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher 2 (BFG) - 3 (LFG) Front fog light switch on Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

   5. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Inspect the rear fog light switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 4 (B) - 3 (LFG) Rear fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher 4 (B) - 3 (LFG) Rear fog light switch on Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.
