FRONT WIPER MOTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      *1 Moulding Edge

      Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

      Standard
      Area Standard Condition
      A 50.6 mm (1.992 in.)
      B 31 mm (1.220 in.)
      C 10.1 mm (0.398 in.)

      *A for RH Side
      *B for LH Side
      *1 Cowl Side Seal Edge
      *2 Louver Edge

      Stop the front wiper motor and link assembly operation.

    3. Check the automatic stop position.

      OK
      The front wipers stop at the positions shown in the illustration.
      Standard
      Area Standard Condition
      a 27.3 to 47.3 mm (1.075 to 1.862 in.)
      b 18.1 to 38.1 mm (0.713 to 1.500 in.)

      If the result is not as specified, remove and reinstall the wiper arm and blade assembly, and then perform the on-vehicle inspection described above to inspect the wiper motor and link assembly again. If the result is not as specified again, inspect the wiper motor and link assembly with it removed from the vehicle body Click here.

  2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

      A 50.6 mm (1.992 in.)
      B 31 mm (1.220 in.)
      C 14.1 mm (0.555 in.)

      *B for RH Side
      *1 Cowl Side Seal Edge
      *2 Louver Edge

      Stop the front wiper motor and link assembly operation.

    3. Check the automatic stop position.

      OK
      The front wipers stop at the positions shown in the illustration.

      a 27.3 to 47.3 mm (1.075 to 1.862 in.)
      b 18.1 to 38.1 mm (0.713 to 1.500 in.)

      If the result is not as specified, remove and reinstall the wiper arm and blade assembly, and then perform the on-vehicle inspection described above to inspect the wiper motor and link assembly again.
