WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM Washer Fluid Level Warning Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the volume of washer fluid decreases to below a certain level (when the level warning switch assembly is turned on), the multi-information display warns the driver by displaying a message*1 or the combination meter assembly warns the driver by displaying a washer fluid warning light*2.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (WASHER SWITCH)


    1. Use the Data List to check if the level warning switch assembly is functioning properly Click here.

      ON: Fluid volume is less than 550 to 750 cc (33.5 to 45.7 cu.in.)

      OFF: Fluid volume is more than 550 to 750 cc (33.5 to 45.7 cu.in.)

      On intelligent tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

  3. INSPECT WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the A23 and B washer wiring assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-3 (S) - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A23-6 (E) - B-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A23-3 (S) or B-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A23-6 (E) or B-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the A23 washer wiring assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G7 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-3 (S) - G7-20 (WLVL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A23-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A23-3 (S) or G7-20 (WLVL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
